Study Extent: Samples were collected during different seasons and years, from the LTER stations.
Sampling: Zooplankton samples were collected using a plankton horizontal sampler (200 μm mesh net size) and preserved with borax-buffered formaldehyde for microscopic analysis.
Method Steps: All collected samples were pressed into glass bowls, vouchered, and deposited in the laboratory of the Institute of Marine Sciences of Venice (ISMAR, https://www.archiviostudiadriatici.it/index.php/it/). For each voucher, a variable number of individuals from each taxon were prepared and preserved in 4% buffered formaldehyde for morphological studies. For the DiSSCo collection, recent samples from 2020 to 2024 were selected.
