CNR-IBBR-PG Progenies from various crosses of Olive tree cultivars

doi: https://doi.org/10.15468/4ngbyr
Record Count: 1,016
Dataset Type: Occurrence
Dataset subtype: Observation

Description: The dataset comprises more than 1000 progenies obtained by crosses between various cultivars of Olea europaea subsp. europaea which are maintained in clonal orchards in Central Italy (Umbria, Lazio, Toscana). Parent cultivars are kept by CNR-IBBR in Perugia, Umbria, Italy. Overall, the CNR-IBBR-PG Olive collection comprises about 1,700 different accessions, including clones and crosses of many European and extra-European varieties. The main goal is the long-term preservation of the olive biodiversity as a source of genetic material for selecting and cultivating new Olive tree varieties and cultivars with specific characteristics . Molecular identification, morphological characterization, and bio-agronomic and metabolic evaluation are currently underway.

CNR-IBBR-PG Hybrid olive seedling collection from Leccino x Dolce Agogia clone crosses

doi: https://doi.org/10.15468/q6aj5s
Record Count: 319
Dataset Type: Occurrence
Dataset subtype: Specimen

Description: Collection of hybrid seedlings of Olea europaea subsp. europaea obtained from controlled crosses between Leccino x Dolce Agogia olive clonal varieties, growing in open field in two localities in Italy, Perugia and Boneggio (PG). Most clones have been multiplied by grafting. The Leccino variety is thought to be resistant to Xylella fastidiosa (Xanthomonadaceae).
