Description: This dataset comprises the occurrences associated to the riverine invertebrates’ specimens collected from riffle mesohabitat of slightly altered rivers located in the Northwestern Italian Alps and specifically in the Piedmont Region (Piemonte). Each row in the dataset corresponds to a single vial related to a single sampling event (site and date) and to a specific sampling unit. The single vial contains one or more individuals of the same taxon. A catalogue number consisting of the collection code (PIEMNR) and a progressive six digit number is assigned to each row. The final digit is a letter if pictures of the preserved specimens were taken. This dataset is provided within the Activity WP6.6, "National Network of Aquatic Science Collections," of the ITINERIS project - Italian Integrated Environmental Research Infrastructures System - CUP B53C22002150006.
Geographic Coverage: Invertebrates were collected in slightly impacted fluvial sites located in the Northwestern Italian Alps.
Taxonomic Coverage: The dataset comprises the occurrences of 43 invertebrate families, Divided in three phyla, Two classes and 13 orders. The most represented taxonomic group is the Arthropoda phylum and particularly the Insecta class. For three insect orders, Namely Plecoptera, Odonata and Ephemeroptera, Occurrence data are available at the genus level (13 genera).

Description: This dataset comprises the occurrences associated to the riverine invertebrate specimens collected from pool mesohabitat of nearly pristine (i.e. not significantly altered rivers) located in Campania, Salerno Province (Italy). Each row in the dataset corresponds to a single vial related to a single sampling event (site and date) and to a specific sampling unit. The single vial contains one or more individuals of the same taxon. A catalogue number consisting of the collection code (CAMPRP) and a progressive six digit number is assigned to each row. This dataset is provided within the Activity WP6.6, "National Network of Aquatic Science Collections," of the ITINERIS project - Italian Integrated Environmental Research Infrastructures System - CUP B53C22002150006.
Geographic Coverage: Invertebrates were collected in nearly pristine rivers located in the Sothern Apennines (Italy, Campania, Salerno Province)
Taxonomic Coverage: The dataset comprises the occurrences of 30 insect families, Divided in 6 orders. For three insects orders namely Plecoptera, Odonata and Ephemeroptera, Occurrence data are available at the genus level (18 genera).

Description: This dataset comprises the occurrences associated to the riverine invertebrate specimens collected from pool mesohabitat of nearly pristine (Reference) reaches of rivers in Sardinia Island, the second biggest island of the Mediterranean Sea. Each row in the dataset corresponds to a single vial related to a specific sampling. The single vial contains one or more individuals of the same taxon. A catalogue number consisting of the collection code (SARDRP) and a progressive six digit number is assigned to each row. The final digit can be a letter if pictures of the preserved specimens are taken. This dataset is provided within the Activity WP6.6, "National Network of Aquatic Science Collections," of the ITINERIS project - Italian Integrated Environmental Research Infrastructures System - CUP B53C22002150006.
Geographic Coverage: Invertebrates were collected in sites with low to absent levels of anthropic disturbance located in the eastern part of Sardinia (south-western Italy).
Taxonomic Coverage: The dataset comprises the occurrences of 53 invertebrate families, Divided in four phyla, Four classes and 14 orders. The most represented taxonomic group is the Arthropoda phylum and particularly the Insecta class. For three insects orders namely Plecoptera, Odonata and Ephemeroptera, Occurrence data are available at the genus level (22 genera).

Description: This dataset represents the collection of the Ephemeroptera slide held at CNR-IRSA in Brugherio, Italy. The list includes specimens primarily collected in Italy starting from 1989 using qualitative methods, including some Italian endemisms. The slide collection has the dual purpose of increasing knowledge about Italian Ephemeroptera species through morphological study and serving as a reference tool for cataloguing and quantifying Italy's Ephemeroptera biodiversity. Each row in the dataset corresponds to a slide containing dissected body parts (e.g., mouthparts, thorax, abdomen). Typically, each individual is mounted on a single slide (i.e., row); however, in some cases, the same individual is mounted on multiple slides due to its size. As part of the ITINERIS project and the National Biodiversity Future Centre (NBFC), Ephemeroptera samples have been curated, catalogued, and digitised to make natural history collections virtually available to the public at any level, simplifying access and sharing of information. Drawings, preserved specimens and photographs of living specimens can be added to the collection.
Geographic Coverage: Sampling was carried out in freshwater environments distributed throughout Italy and other European countries
Taxonomic Coverage: The dataset includes occurrences of the order Ephemeroptera as part of the class Insecta, Phylum Arthropoda
